Excellence Club at The Cornerstone Academy

Here at The Cornerstone Academy, we believe that as well as receiving outstanding academic education in class, our students deserve the very best in preparing for the future. Academically, in Excellence Club, our students are expected to try things which they think they cannot do; to persist in the face of difficulty; to become resilient in overcoming obstacles; to manage themselves; to work independently on things which challenge them; to work with others; and to lead.

The Excellence Club is open to Grammar Steam during KS3 and the highest achieving students in KS4.

Past critical thinking projects include Psychology – Free Will v Behaviourism; History through Music; The Rise of the Museum; Psychogeography; RE Insider v Outsider Argument; Hidden Histories; The Darker Side of Science
