As a school at the heart of its community, The Cornerstone Academy has a determination to bring out the best in everyone. Catering for pupils aged 11 to 16, the academy provides an inclusive, welcoming and exciting learning environment for students of all faiths, backgrounds and abilities.
Consecutive years of strong exam results have placed us in the top 15% of schools in the country for Progress 8 - the government measure which records pupil progress from the end of primary school to the end of secondary school.
Rated 'good' by Ofsted the school is also set to benefit from a £7 million investment programme. With work starting this summer (2018) and scheduled to run until August 2019, the improvements will help us to meet the growing local requirement for more places in Year 7, taking the school's capacity from 600 to 900, through an additional to forms of entry in every year group.
As part of United Learning, we are motivated by the group's core values of Ambition, Confidence, Creativity, Determination, Enthusiasm and Respect and set our expectations and standards high. Our staff and students are also able to access professional development, shared experiences and natural opportunities with colleagues and others from across the country. And we are determined to keep improving, learning and developing ourselves, working closely with a range of partners in education and industry in support of this aim.
But don't take our word for it - come and see for yourselves and join us on our exciting journey.
