Clubs & Enrichment FAQs

How much are clubs?

All of our clubs are run by staff or paid for by the school, we do not charge students for afterschool clubs that are ran by TCA staff

What time do clubs start and end?

Lunchtime clubs run between 12:40 - 1:10pm. Afterschool clubs vary slightly but run between 3:00 - 4:30pm at the very latest. Please see the clubs timetable for further timings information.

How do we sign up?
  • PE Clubs - Turn up afterschool with your PE kit, you will then be added to the register.
  • Eco Club - Speak to Mrs Redmile
  • Baking Club - Please speak to Miss Hubbard
  • Invite Only Clubs - You will be contacted.
  • Cornerstone Patch Gardening - Instructions on the flier detailing how to sign up. For any further questions please speak to the member of staff running the club.
  • If you have any concerns with clubs, please always go and speak to the member of staff running the club.
What can they wear?

At lunchtime, sports clubs students must have trainers. For afterschool, sports clubs students should have their Cornerstone Academy PE kit. For sports clubs, all jewellery must be removed and hair must be tied back. For other clubs, normal school uniform is to be worn, unless specified by the staff at the club.

Where do they go for clubs?

As soon as students have been dismissed from their P6 lesson, they are free to go to their club and wait for the member of staff. Changing rooms will be open for sports club students to change into their PE kit.

What happens if they are late?

Students who arrive late are still welcome to join in. However, they still must have the correct equipment and notify the staff member when they arrive to update the clubs register.

What happens if they miss a week?

We understand that students may not be able to attend every week, generally this doesn’t mean they cannot come. However, if clubs are limited in space, places will be allocated on a first come first served basis for students that are committed.

What about medications?

Medications need to be handed in to main reception. You will need to discuss this with a member of first aid to ensure that they have a clear understanding of how this is to be administered. Asthma pumps are the child’s responsibility to take out to clubs if they need to be administered.

Where can I collect my child?

Students are instructed to exit the school after their club through Main Reception. Parents and students are welcome to stay in reception from 4pm onwards to allow collection. Please be aware that Main Reception closes at 4pm so no staff will be on hand.

Study zones

If your child has study zone or lunchtime detention, this will always take priority over the club
