Component 1 - Travel and Tourism Organisations and destinations. You will be exploring the UK travel and tourism industry looking at the different travel and tourism organisations and the products and services they offer. You will learn about the features of popular visitor destinations.
Component 2 – Customer Needs in Travel and Tourism. In this unit learners will investigate how organisations use market research to identify travel and tourism trends and identify customer needs and preferences. This unit will be started at the end of Year 10 and completed in the autumn term of Year 11.
Component 3 – Influences on Global Travel and Tourism. In this unit you will gain understanding of the positive and negative influences of different factors on global travel and tourism and how these factors can affect global tourist destinations and travel and tourism organisations.
Learners will understand how organisations respond to different factors. Learners will be able to relate these factors to specific contexts. Data interpretation and graphical information will form part of this unit. Learners will look at sustainable tourist management and how organisations work in partnership together.
