During year 7 you will:

  • Have gained knowledge of all the options available after year 11
  • Complete a B&V careers module called ‘All About Me’
  • Explore the world of work
  • Visit the Careers Fair
  • Explore links between the subjects you study and career paths and opportunities
  • Complete your Education with Character awards
  • Listen to and partake in assemblies focused on various topics

During year 8 you will:

  • Gain an awareness of your own skills and qualities

  • Listen to and partake in assemblies focused on various topics

During year 9 you will:

  • Understand the work experience process and local opportunities
  • Have developed a working CV and covering letter
  • Have gained insight to what employers look for in terms of employability skills and entrepreneurship competences
  • Have a day off timetable, which is totally dedicated to career aspiration, personal guidance and exploration of career paths in the build up to choosing options
  • Choose your options using the variety of guidance and support received throughout the academic year
  • Explore the world of work
  • Visit the Careers Fair
  • Explore links between the subjects you study and career paths and opportunities
  • Complete your Education with Character awards
  • Listen to and partake in assemblies focused on various topics
  • Learn how to navigate a useful tool called ‘Careers Pilot’
